Infographics have became a standard for visual data representation. It’s well known that one picture is worth one thousand words. This type of a picture is worth much more if you know how to read it.

There are several types of infographics, and we’ll bullet some of the most used ones:

  • Informational infographic
  • Timeline infographic
  • Statistical infographic
  • Geographic infographic
  • Process infographic
  • Hierarchical infographic

Each and every one of these infographic types has its own purpose. Actually each of them has its own audience. Segmentation has become a daily routine for every marketeer when analyzing data.  Would a smart marketeer optimize his statistical infographic for folks who don’t know the meaning of the words average and pie chart? I don’t think so.

New trends in the infographic world

  • Color schemes are changing  – brands are constantly using new colors to attract new visitors and customers, and make their brand stand out.
  • Stock images are ok, but branded are better – Don’t be lazy, and just pick a stock photo in a few seconds. Take your own photo and brand it the way you should. Be the star of your target audience news feed.
  • Gradients are not dead – are you fond of the 90’s? Well this year it’s gonna be they never left. Gradients are gonna be everywhere.
  • Crazy color everywhere – Black and white, conventional color schemes… That’s so passé.  Interesting and unconventional color schemes will be the big thing this summer.

  • Why not illustrate – People love illustrations especially if they are well crafted. Don’t be sterile in your design always.
  • Use Instagram formats for more engagement – Cinemagraphs is a popular photo format in which a small and repeated movement occurs. If you don’t believe us, check your Instagram account.
